The
Cemetery 3
Overview
After
a break of almost two years, the Cemetery series reaches its
third installment. The most extensive and technically
draining movie of the series has arrived in May 2004.
2 Bad Design is bringing you more action,
more laughter and more insane fights. Now you can download
the full un-cut version! More than twenty minutes of
Cemetery action!
All
the cast is back, plus some
new
fresh faces that help the ever-increasing action. More
special effects including a Matrix-style backflip that took
more than three days to prep and two days to shoot
correctly.
The principal photography for this movie
took about three months, more than any other 2 Bad Design
project. The movie was screened a whole week at a local
Cinerama, gathering about a thousand viewers and a small
colum in a local newspaper. In the following weeks, a DVD
version of the movie will be released in local video renting
stores. Lately I managed to upload it and make it available
to anyone.
On
this project, the 2 Bad Design
team
almost doubled. We needed lots of help, especially on the
special effects scenes, including some CGI titles, so we
decided to recruit some more members. Following great
collaborations with everyone, and a superb movie experience,
the movie production team is now comprised of more than 15
full-time members.
The Cemetery 3 is the first 2 Bad Design
movie that actually features costumes. Besides make-up we
used a specially created "Scary Movie/Scream" costume
complete with blood effects.
Special
locations were used in the creating of the right mood for
specific scenes. One of these locations is
Club
S, located in downtown Timisoara. We got permission to shoot
there during a wednesday night.
The football team Politehnica AEK issued
2 Bad Design a permit to shoot their empty football stadium
for the ending credits.
Also,
with the production of The Cemetery 3, we employed a
professional martial-arts sensei to coreograph the elaborate
fight scenes. Although the cast had to waste about a week of
shooting time to train for the complicated moves, the
end-result is far better than any other fight scenes
captured
by us on film.
Photography was done with three Sony
MiniDV cameras. On-set sound gathering was done using a DAT
machine and a boom microphone. The movie runs for about
twenty minutes and was edited on a Pentium 4 machine with an
ATi Radeon 9800 video card, 1 GB of DDRAM and Pinnacle
Studio DV equipment.
2
Bad Design will issue a new DVD version of the movie in July
2004 available for rent or purchase. The DVD authoring was
done by our in-house tehnician and includes
never-before-seen graphics. Also, as special features, we
have included the Cemetery 1 and 2, the making of the
Cemetery, a
teaser
trailer for the Cemetery 4 and a few production photos.
Another fine plus to the Cemetery 3 are
the new CGI titles. The took more than three days to design
and another day to render, they showcase the fine
craftsmanship of our graphics department.
