The Cemetery

Overview

The movie that started it all was inspired by a chemistry class where the writer and director Alexandru Duta was discussing the idea of an action movie with star Cristian O. Golu. In about three weeks principal photography started for that new movie: the Cemetery.

Boasting a never-before-seen cast of soon to be starts, the Cemetery took just a few hours to shoot and a weekend to edit. The next week about five screenings got the movie some playtime to unsuspecting audiences.

After another week of editing I managed to upload the new cut of the movie and enter it into DivX-Digest and Film Watcher.Com thus getting it tons of fans and a whole lot more playtime. In a few months after an incredible amount of e-mails the Cemetery team decided to start work on a sequel to the movie that started it all.

The Cemetery had a budget of 30.000 lei, given inflation and exchanging currency it amounts to 70 american cents. Cast and crew joined the project just for experience, working for free. The movie was shot using a single Sony Handycam using Super8 film. The editing was done on a P3 machine using Pinnacle TV analog to digital equipment.
